Add colour, texture, and personality to your home with a beautiful vintage kantha quilt. Used as a throw, draped on a chair or on the end of your bed, these unique pieces represent a connection to a centuries old textile tradition, and to the creativity and skill of Bengali women.
Lohori means wave, a style of kantha stitching popular in Rajshahi, Bangladesh, where the straight kantha stitch are closely packed to form regular patterns.
This beautiful lohori kantha features stitching in the kautar khupi (‘pigeon coop’ or triangle) pattern, in autumnal tones - red, orange and vintage black on the traditional white base, with a colourful patched border section on one side in blue and lavender.
