The Purple geranium (Geranium pretanse) or Meadow Cranesbill, is a resilient perennial native to Asia and Europe. Known for its finely cut foliage and violet-blue blooms, it thrives in poor soils and cold climates. Its flowers rotate slightly with the sun - aiding efficient seed dispersal - and can spread up to 60cms, forming graceful, long-lasting groundcover.
