Award winning Kolkata based design studio Karomi has reinvented jamdani for a new era.

Working with several village based weaving clusters in Bengal, Karomi takes an artistic approach to design. Whilst respecting and sustaining the beauty of this traditional craft,Scarf and the skills of the village weavers, Karomi proudly brings a design driven product to a sophisticated and environmentally conscious consumer.

The studio has grown to work with other crafts such as hand-block printing and kantha embroidery. 

The Nerieid Overlay is an easy-to-wear silhouette brought together with a rich patchwork of naturally dyed indigo fabrics featuring different jamdani designs

The boxy fit is balanced with a high-low hem and short sleeves. A patchwork placket runs down the front, accented with subtle textured thread detailing. Hand embroidery is scattered across the garment, adding delicate highlights. A front pocket adds utility, while triangular houndstooth panels on both sides bring depth and a soft flare.

This versatile piece can be layered effortlessly over dresses, tops, or tunics – making it a go-to for styling across seasons.
