Maku Textiles was founded in 2011 by designer Santanu Das. With a passion for handwoven textiles and indigo dye, Maku produces carefully considered handmade garments that celebrate the historic craft and textile traditions of India.
The Jataka collection is inspired by stories of the former births of The Buddha on his path of gradual transformation to The Enlightened One.
The one size Kapota dress is made from handspun, handwoven crushed cotton, in hand dyed deep indigo with a fine black stripe. Asymmetrical collar, button bodice with beautiful brass buttons, full length sleeves, mid calf length skirt and side pockets.
