An ode to romantic love, the “Perfumes of Spring” collection is an invitation to navigate through the archetypes, goddesses, muses and women of flesh and blood that have symbolized love across times and cultures. Embroidered poems from Neruda and Tagore guide us through the ineffable landscape of love evoking its magic and power.
The Inanna dress is crafted from homespun cotton in a Madras check* of indigo and grey, with a red highlight stripe. Featuring a scoop neck, half sleeves, midi length, gathered two tiered full skirt, and in-seam pockets.
*The ‘Madras check’ is a lightweight cotton textile from Madras in southern India. It typically comes with patterned multi-colored checks, and is popularly used as shirting fabric and lungi (lower garment wrap for men) in India. The ‘madras check’ has been a popular trade textile from India since the 1600s. Like the heritage textile from early days, the ‘madras check’ has been recreated in natural dyes of indigo and grey (from iron).
