Maku Textiles was founded in 2011 by designer Santanu Das. With a passion for handwoven textiles and indigo dye, Maku produces carefully considered handmade garments that celebrate the historic craft and textile traditions of India.
The rich indigo shade is obtained by dipping the yarn hanks sequentially six times in a fermented natural indigo bath of medium indigo concentration. The brown is obtained by dyeing in catechu and fermented iron water.
